Abstract (EN): Parental influences are among the most frequently studied variables in children health promotion programs. In fact exercise habits of parents and their lifestyle behaviors can be expected to affect children in terms of activities and behavioral attributes. This study investigated the relationship between general parental (n=90) physical activity habits, assessed by a behavioral inventory of a self-test health-lifestyle, with their children's (n=45; 18 boys and 27 girls) activity patterns assessed either during formal self-reported activity or during spontaneous activity, assessed by heart rate telemetry. We found an important association between parents' PAH and their children's PA, either formal or spontaneous activity. While family practices seems to be more important in SPA, the self-reported vigorous and moderate parental physical activity habits seems to influence the children's FPA.
