Abstract (EN):
A new basic process of nonlinear interaction between optical pulses is described which extends the well-known concept of parametric processes to the case where cross-phase modulation is present. The resulting sliding resonance effect has a strong influence in the phase-matching conditions, and gives rise to a nonlinear phase-locking mechanism. The explicit example of the modified parametric amplification is considered in detail using both analytical and numerical approaches.
