Abstract (EN):
Graphene, owing to its exceptionally high nonlinear optical response [1] and broad bandwidth (due to the lack of macroscopic phase mismatch) is a very attractive material for low intensity, broadband ultrafast optics applications. One such application is using third harmonic generation (THG) for pulse characterisation, in combination with a pulse diagnostic such as dispersion-scan (d-scan, [2]), where the broad bandwidth of graphene would make it especially suitable for measurements of the broadband spectrum of lasers at distant wavelengths, as well as spectra spanning several octaves. Furthermore, the high nonlinearity of graphene would make possible the use of this technique to characterise low energy sources such as high repetition rate oscillators. © 2013 IEEE.
