Exposição e Conversa 'Diálogos e Afinidades'

This exhibition presents academic works developed by students of the Curricular Course ‘Architectural and Preservation Final Design Workshop’ (2015/2016), under the guidance of Professor Helder Casal Ribeiro, on the topic ‘Porta di Mulina _ a quest for a new identity’, within the Master of Science in Architecture and Preservation of Politecnico di Milano - Scuola di Architettura e Società - Polo Territoriale di Mantova.

The Conversation at the Exhibition will take place on March 29, 6h30 pm, at the Exhibition Gallery, with Barbara Bogoni, Professor at  Politecnico di Milano.

The Course aimed to open a research focused on the relationship between heritage and project, i.e., between architectural and landscape pre-existing conditions in historically multi-layered environments, converging on interventions of requalification and urban renewal. The (re)reading of the context, motivated by the inclusion of new urban functions and structures in Porta di Mulina area, addressed the meaning of time as an architectural notion in the interpretation of the built urban heritage. The urban case-study translates the issues present in the emblematic context of Mantua´s historical and modern transformation.

The course functioned in an intensive workshop mode during 10 consecutive days in an atelier environment, with a wide timetable, from 9am to 11pm, integrating a set of lectures as thematic anchors.
