José António Bandeirinha (Coimbra, 1958)

Architect, graduated at Escola Superior de Belas-Artes of Porto (1983), full associate professor in the Architecture Department of the University of Coimbra, where he did a PhD in 2002 entitled The SAAL process and the architecture in April 25th 1974.

Having as main reference architecture and space organization, he has been devoting his work to diverse subjects — city, housing, theatre, culture.

Former President of the Department of Architecture of Coimbra University (2002-2004 and 2006-2007).

Former pro-rector for culture issues University of Coimbra (2007-2011).

Former Director of the Arts University College, University of Coimbra (2011-2013).

Curator of the Exhibition Fernando Távora Permanent Modernity whose coordinator was Álvaro Siza. The exhibition took place in Guimarães European Capital of Culture 2012.

Senior researcher at Centre of Social Studies.
