Susana Ventura (Coimbra, 1978) is an architect, philosopher, critic, and curator specializing in contemporary art and architecture. She holds a PhD in Philosophy (FCSH-UNL, 2013) and is currently researching the composition of sensations in architecture within extreme climatic landscapes at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto, under a competitive contract awarded through the FCT—CEECIND competition.
She has co-curated several exhibitions, including “Utopia/Dystopia” (with Pedro Gadanho and João Laia, MAAT, 2017), “The House of Democracy: between Space and Power” (Casa da Arquitectura, 2018), “Radial Body” (solo exhibition by Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela, Galeria da Boavista, 2020), and “Matter-Affect” (collective exhibition, No.No Gallery, 2022).
Susana has also served as an Invited Assistant Professor at Nova University Lisbon’s Art History Department (2022-2023), the University of Minho’s School of Architecture, Art, and Design (2018-2022), and the University of Évora’s Department of Architecture (2019-2021).
In 2014, she won the Fernando Távora Prize and was part of the Official Portuguese Representation at the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale. Her book, “Interferences. Architecture as Multiplicity,” was published by Circo de Ideias in 2024.
