Apresentação Pessoal

Mariana Martins de Carvalho (Porto, 1979). Architect (Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto, FAUP, 2005) and bachelor in Fine Arts – Painting (Faculdade das Belas Artes, FBAUP, 2011). Master of Architecture with the thesis "The drawing as an analysis tool. Three houses of Coderch" (MIARQ-FAUP, 2011). Postgraduate degree in Advanced Studies in Architectural Heritage (CEAPA-FAUP, 2012). PhD in Architecture from the Doctoral Program in Architecture, Architectural Heritage Profile (PDA-FAUP).
The doctoral research, funded with a grant from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), reflected on the drawing of the ruin, as a method and instrument of analysis of the Roman city, under the supercision of Doctor Pilar Reis and Professor Marta Oliveira
As a researcher at the Centre for Studies in Architecture and Urbanism (CEAU) of FAUP, she is a member of the research group in Architecture, City and Territory Heritage (PACT).
Collaboration with several architecture studios, having worked on projects in the area of renovation and restoration of architectural and archaeological heritage.

In addition to her activity in architecture she has been involved in other artistic projects in the areas of fine arts art and curatorship.

Research interests: architecture, architectural and archaeological heritage.
