As a researcher in the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto, Vera Viana has directed her interests and practices on geometry towards the enhancement of mathematics education through the exploration of advanced digital tools, focusing on polyhedral theory, structural morphology, the history of polyhedra, the relationships between architecture and mathematics and the transformative potential of digital culture in STEAM in higher education. Viana authored a Ph.D. Thesis, book chapters, papers, lectures, courses, and a website on these subjects.
Director of Aproged (the Portuguese Geometry and Drawing Teachers’ Association) since 2009.
Co-Chair and Organizing Committee member of international conferences aimed at disseminating scientific knowledge and creating synergies between scholars, researchers, and experimentalists within multidisciplinary frameworks.
Editor of conferences-related books published by Springer Nature (2020 and 2022 (upcoming)) and Aproged (2009-2021).
Editorial Board member of the Nexus Network Journal.
