Architect (FAUP, 1992), PHD in Architecture with the thesis “Modern Experimentation in Mário Bonito´s work: a design process of the 40 to the 60” (FAUP, 2013). Teacher at FAUP since 1999; and is currently an Auxiliary Professor at the same faculty, where he lectures Project 3 of the Integrated Masters' degree in Architecture (MIARQ); Co-head Professor of two Curricular Units in the Doctorate Program in Architecture (PDA): Social housing after the war in France with the participation of Monique Eleb, and Collective housing: points of interest between wars with the participation of Cármen Espegel (Academic year 2014/15; 2018/19; 2020/21; 2022/23). Visiting professor in Politécnico di Milano_ Polo Territoriale di Mantova (2014/15; 2015/16) and e Visiting Professor in Politécnico di Milano ABC_PhD programme (2017-2023). In 2022/23, Visiting Professor in MIAW2023 -Milan International Architectural Design Workshop - Archives of Memory, in Politécnico di Milano-AUIC.
Also cultivates, since 1992, professional activity continuously, in association with several architects in areas such as: private housing, social housing, public buildings, heritage/urban rehabilitation and urban planning. Received the National Award IHRU 2008_Construção for the Social Housing Project in Fontainhas, Porto integrated in P.E.R., 1997/2008; co-authored with Ana Sousa da Costa.
Researcher at the Study Centre of Architecture and Urbanism (CEAU) in the groups "Teoria e Praticas de Projectos (T2P)" and "Atlas da Casa (AdC)", financed by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), namely the project Identidade e transferência, (Identity and transference) were he researches the design process in Porto between the 40s and 60s, in 20th century,a period experimental in portuguese modern and foundational of its contemporary architecture.
Currently associated to the research project "SIZA baroque", funded by public agency that supports scientific research in Portugal (FCT) ref: SIZA/CPT/0021/2019 and IR in the european project "UpGranT: Updating the Grand Tour. Memory andInvention of the European Built Environment", funded by the European Nation, programme Erasmus+, actionKA220-HED - Cooperation partnerships in higher education, ref: 2023-1-IT02-KA220-HED-000158377.
