Objectives

1. Develop knowledge and skills related to the teaching of all athletic events in school;

1.1. Knowing the different disciplines of athletics as regards education.


1.2. Enhancing the pedagogical potential of the different disciplines that make up the athletics and its contribution in the formation of the person sportingly educated, competent and enthusiastic.


1.3. Know and apply the pedagogical progressions to teach the various athletics events.


1.4. Plan, implement and evaluate teaching and learning of athletics by reference to a curricular model.


2. Mobilize knowledge and skills to solve practical problems of teaching the Athletics about athletics teaching, by the particularities of its contents, age groups and levels of practice.

Learning outcomes and competences

It is intended that students acquire the technical knowledge, rules, pedagogical and didactic content of Athletics (running, jumping and throwing), bringing together the skills needed for the athletics teaching in schools.

Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)

To have basic theoretical-practical, conceptual and procedural knowledge about all athletics events (running, jumping and throwing), transmitted during the initial formation of students, and which are essential to the construction of pedagogical-didactic knowledge for the athletics teaching in school.
The appropriation and construction of this specific knowledge about the teaching of athletics takes place simultaneously and in concomitance with the teaching of other theoretical and theoretical-practical disciplines of the course, namely the general didactics of the sport and the specific didactics of other sports modalities.

Program

1. Treatment of the educational content of Athletics;
1.1. Design of sporting formation in athletics in the school context.
1.2. Analysis of the physical education programs of primary and secondary levels (athletics).
1.3. Phasing of the teaching and learning process of the different specialties of athletics.
1.4. Criteria for assessing the different disciplines of athletics.
1.5. Didactic content preparation in accordance with the Sport Education Model.
2. Introduction to Teaching Practice: Practice skills of planning, instruction, management and assessment. the teaching and learning of athletics in schools, following a hybrid Sport Education Model.

Eligibility for exams

To obtain the minimum attendance, students: (i) ordinary students must attend at least 75% of the lessons given, students with special status must attend at least 50% of the lessons taught

Calculation formula of final grade

Evaluation formula:

Written Test - 25%

Realization of individual Works - 25%

Pedagogical practice - 45%

Involvement / interest / attendance - 5%

Minimum score on each item - 7.5 values

At the end of continuous assessment is required the minimum of 10 values

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Each week, students who attend the course under a special status shall complete and deliver to the teacher theoretical works of pedagogical-didactic nature of all program content, as they are covered in class.
