Objectives
To provide students with essential knowledge and core skills for the production of scientific knowledge in sports sciences in general, particularly of those underpinning the study of structure and function of the Human being: Biomechanics, Biophysics and Physiology.
Learning outcomes and competences
At the end of the course, it is intended that students are able to autonomously conceive, organize, manage, develop and present (written, and orally, with the convenient iconographic support) scientific research projects using the support of adequate iconography.

This curricular unit focuses on the discussion of research problems and the formalization of research through the exposure and debate of ideas, programs and projects, as well as through the analysis of scientific studies.

Teaching methods and learning activities
- The curricular unit work will alternate invited conferences centered on the topics of the student’s work, with sessions when students will present and discuss the state of development of their work, as well as a scientific paper considered relevant for their project. Besides these several preparatory presentations that occur throughout the school year, the student must present and support his doctoral project developed throughout the school year, to a formal panel of scientific experts, from where the final classification will be given.
