Objectives

To study the mechanical laws that rule human movement and their importance in teaching, training, and evaluation of physical activity in sports, ergonomics and rehabilitation.

Learning outcomes and competences

The students should be able to identify and to apply the mechanical laws that rule human movement and their importance in teaching, training, and evaluation of physical activity in sports, ergonomics and rehabilitation.
Furthermore, they should be able to recognize a properly performed movement, and when it is not they should suggest changes that allow it to become correct from the biomechanical point of view.
The students should understand the force transmission along body segment which they may use to infer the cause of pain or injuries, whether it is located near or far from the injury.
They should be proficient in the utilization of the instruments available in a biomechanics laboratory, as well as in the interpretation of the respective results.
To be able to evaluate and interpret the data obtained in a biomechanical context
To explain the human motion in biomechanical terms
Apply the knowledge acquired to new situations

Eligibility for exams

Students are admitted to the second text if they obtained a minimum of 7.5 points in a 0 to 20 scale in the first test.
A minimum of 7.5 is required in the two tests and and, if applicable, in Laboratory Work
The Laboratory Work will only be realized if the necessary conditions are met.
Attendance to classes according to law is also required.

Calculation formula of final grade

(CT1 + CT2) / 2, where
CT1 is the classification of the first test
CT2 is the classification of second test

or Classification of final exam for the students that choose to do only the final exam.

Examinations or Special Assignments

If the necessary conditions exist, Laboratory Design Laboratory Project to be held in the last classes of the semester

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Final exam, in or out of the evaluation periods in accordance with law.
