Objectives
Central main
Increase the scientific and technical-professional qualification of graduates and, provide the students with skills in the field, specifically in normative reality that surrounds this socio-cultural and economic phenomenon, recognizing in this binomial a legal and plurality space. Thus, they will be able to understand and fulfil in their future academic and professional intervention the legal and political demands of the sport
Specific objectives:
- Provide the students with specific and specialized knowledge regarding the relations between Sports, or physical and sports activities, and General Law, particularly Sports Law.
- Identify the legislative reality and all the regulations published either by the Government or by private entities that condition the access, the development and sometimes the outcome of the sports practice.
- Contribute to clarify the difference between different types of sport namely professional and non-professional, high level, recreational, sport for rehabilitation and sport in school.
- Prepare the students for accessing the Sports Law sources, interpreting the main legal instruments concerning the potential areas of professional intervention and critically reflecting about the regulation in general.
- Raise the scientific and technical-professional qualification of students to access sources of sport law, interpret judicial decisions and reflect critically on regulations and jurisprudence in general.
- Increase the reflection and conceptualization about the need to use the main legal instruments in the organization and management of activities and resources.
- Develop attitudes and ethical values, procedural and respect to the law to enable future professionals to conduct a professional practice in accordance with the standard, enthusiastic and competent.
- Increase in students the ability to approach lifelong learning independently.
Learning outcomes and competences
The students will develop skills in the broader field of the existing legislation surrounding that socio-cultural and economic phenomenon, acknowledging it as a space of legal plurality. Therefore, they will be able to realize and adhere to the legal and political requirements of the sports activity.

Eligibility for exams
Students must attend a minimum of 75% of classes to be evaluated. In order to be able to be evaluated through the "continuous assessment" mode, the attendance at the classes previously mentioned is mandatory. All other cases that do not impose a minimum presence are evaluated through a final exam.
Calculation formula of final grade
The final classification will correspond to the weighted average of the attendance (interventions and individual practical work) that will correspond to 30%, and the elaboration of a final work which can be individual / group corresponding to 70% of the evaluation.
