Objectives
- Enable the understanding of sport tourism in the perspective of social sciences;
- Analyze tourism and sport and find the point(s) of connection between them;
- Promote the development of interest in the understanding and reflection of the possibilities/oportunities of sport tourism in contemporary society as an economic and professional sector.
Learning outcomes and competences
When finishing the module students should be able to:
- Know themes and approaches of sport tourism in social sciences;
- Be able to interpret and identify events, situations and facts relevant in the context of tourism and sport tourism;
- Having a critical reflection attitude about sport tourism, provider of aotonomy, freedom and personal growth;
- Understand that the sociological perspective is one of the looks that analizes (studies) tourism and sports tourism, facilitating the understanding of these phenomena (identify trends, directions, motivations, tastes, "fashions"...).
