Objectives

Overall, this curricular unit takes as its main objective to promote students' reflection on the strengths and weaknesses of education normally available to the students in sport sciences and related areas, considering the changes occurred in contemporary societies over the past years, including with regard to obtaining and keeping a job in this field of activity. In addition, we intend to encourage students to develop skills to maximize their employability.

Program

The education in sport sciences: From past to present.
The evolution of the Western societies along the recent years.
The characteristics of the sport related jobs in Portugal and abroad.
The emphasis on employability: how to deal with it and how to promote the skills in this area.
