Teaching methods and learning activities
Plural, although focused on the most traditional class centred on the transmission of syllabus, due to the number of students (<20), to the diverse iconographic support, and to the systematic appeal to students intervention and dialog. In addition, other teaching methodologies are used: (i) learning centred on the student by the realization of lecture files and low extensive monographic works; (ii) group works, specifically for the documents analysis, and appreciation and use of evaluation tools in swimming; (iii) use of multimedia systems, aiming the individual tutored learning in topics related with the study of the swimming technique, and evaluation of swimmers and training control and advise. Complementarily, some practical sessions are implemented, usually involved in the Swimming Department of FADEUP activities, in which it is aimed to confront the student to the requirements of conducting a training session, leading a swimming team in a competition event, and implementing research protocols. Evaluation along the semester without final examination.
