Resumo (PT): O presente estudo tem como propósitos indagar as diferenças de utilização do membro inferior preferido e não preferido e as respetivas assimetrias funcionais da habilidade motora específica o remate entre os jogadores de elite masculinos do Top e Bottom das cinco principais ligas europeias, bem como analisar as diferenças na eficácia da ação do remate entre os respetivos jogadores. Para o efeito, analisaram-se 822 remates realizados por 20 jogadores de futebol profissional da Premier League, da La Liga, da Bundesliga, da Serie A e da Ligue 1 divididos em grupos de análise de jogadores do Top e Bottom classificativo de cada liga. Para a análise foi utilizada a ferramenta Safall-Foot, este instrumento permite examinar a frequência e a eficácia das habilidades motoras específicas executadas durante o jogo, assim como o índice de utilização dos membros inferiores. Para a análise estatística foram utilizados o teste t de amostras independentes, junto do Mann-Whitney, correlação de Pearson e correlação de Spearman. Os resultados evidenciaram diferenças significativas na utilização do pé preferido em relação ao pé não preferido, tanto nos jogadores do grupo de Top como nos jogadores do grupo de Bottom. Relativamente à quantidade e à eficácia de remates com o pé preferido, o estudo apresentou diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre os jogadores do grupo Top e os do grupo de Bottom. No que diz respeito ao sucesso parcelar do pé direito, também, existem diferenças significativas entre os jogadores dos grupos Top e Bottom A assimetria funcional entre ambos o membro, na ação de remate, não revelou diferenças significativas entre os jogadores dos grupos Top e Bottom. A ausência de correlação significativa entre a preferência podal e a posição na tabela classificativa também foi uma evidência.

Abstract (EN): The present study aims to investigate the differences in the use of the preferred and non-preferred lower limb, as well as the respective functional asymmetries in the specific motor skill of shooting among elite male players from the Top and Bottom of the five main European leagues. It also seeks to analyze the differences in the effectiveness of the shooting action between these players. For this purpose, 822 shots made by 20 professional football players from the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Ligue 1 were analyzed, with the players divided into analysis groups based on the Top and Bottom rankings of each league. The Safall-Foot tool was used for the analysis, which allows for the examination of the frequency and effectiveness of specific motor skills performed during the game, as well as the usage index of the lower limbs. For the statistical analysis, the independent samples t-test, along with the Mann-Whitney test, Pearson correlation, and Spearman correlation were used. The results showed significant differences in the use of the preferred foot compared to the non-preferred foot, both among players in the Top group and those in the Bottom group. Regarding the quantity and effectiveness of shots with the preferred foot, the study revealed statistically significant differences between the players in the Top group and those in the Bottom group. Concerning the partial success of the right foot, there were also significant differences between the Top and Bottom group players. However, functional asymmetry between the two limbs in the shooting action did not reveal significant differences between the players in the Top and Bottom groups. The absence of a significant correlation between foot preference and league ranking position was also observed.
