Details
Summary: The project is based on the development of efficient methods of nanoencapsulation of bioactive principles comprising the establishment of process optimal conditions. This project aims to respond to the need of preserving the physical-chemical stability of bioactive principles in formulations. The active principles will be selected according to their health benefits and market impact. The nanoencapsulation will prevent their degradation and will allow the preparation of stable formulations. The nanoencapsulation is expected to release the bioactive compounds in a controlled manner and to increase their bioavailability in the human body. The controlled release allows the intake of recommended doses by World Health Organization (WHO). In the scope of this consortium, the nanocapsules will be incorporated into formulations, namely drinks, such as near waters, which are integrated in the expanding market of functional products.
Economics and finances of different formulations will be included, in order to anticipate a commercial exploitation of the project results.
