Objectives

Learning outcomes and competences
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Develop knowledge and skills related to teaching martial arts in a school context:
- Identify the theoretical and practical principles of martial arts didactics.
- - Understand the importance of martial arts in the holistic development of individuals and in the development of social and motor skills.
- Apply teaching methodologies adapted to the needs and characteristics of elementary school students:
- Develop and implement effective and appropriate lesson plans for teaching martial arts in elementary education.
- Use pedagogical techniques that respect the different stages of children's and adolescents' development.
- Analyze different Judo techniques and tactics and their applicability in the school context:
- Master basic terminological aspects that allow understanding and analyzing the motor skills involved in fundamental martial arts techniques.
- Adapt martial arts techniques to ensure the safety and physical integrity of students.
- Create a safe and stimulating environment in martial arts classes:
- Synthesize safety rules that enable the introduction of martial arts in the school context, promoting injury prevention.
- Ensure that martial arts classes are conducted with respect for the physical and emotional integrity of students.
- Evaluate students' performance in martial arts classes using appropriate criteria and assessment methods:
- Apply continuous and final assessment instruments that reflect the development of students' motor and social skills.
- Use constructive feedback to support students' progress.

Previous knowledge about motor development, motor learning and inclusion in the school process.
Program
The course begins with an introduction to the study of combat sports, covering their history and evolution, as well as their importance in shaping a well-rounded individual. It then delves into the theoretical and practical principles of combat sports education, tailored to students in the 2nd and 3rd cycles of basic and secondary education. The curriculum includes studying and applying fundamental Judo techniques, analyzing tactics and their adaptation to the school environment. Students also develop skills in designing and implementing effective lesson plans for teaching combat sports, while learning criteria and methods for assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback. Safety protocols for practicing combat sports in educational settings are emphasized, aiming to create a stimulating and secure learning environment.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Throughout the course, students will engage in theoretical lectures and practical demonstrations, providing a comprehensive understanding of Judo techniques and strategies. They will also participate in practical activities, both individually and in groups, where they can directly apply what they have learned, fostering skills development in a collaborative environment.
Continuous assessment will occur throughout the semester, based on students' active participation in practical activities and their demonstrated performance in class. This will provide ongoing feedback on their progress and understanding of the content.
At the end of the semester, students will be assessed through a final theoretical test, covering the knowledge acquired during the course. This final assessment will help consolidate both theoretical and practical learning, ensuring that students are well-prepared to effectively apply Judo principles and techniques in future educational contexts.

Eligibility for exams
Obligatory attendance - 75% of the lessons given.
Calculation formula of final grade
Written test - 25%;
Continuous assessment (Pedagogical practice) - 75%;
Minimum passing score for each item - 7.5 marks;
At the end of continuous assessment the minimum score must be 10.
Examinations or Special Assignments
Students with the right to access the special assessment period may carry out special assessment assignments, when they cannot meet all the requirements in the practical assessment, as long as this is communicated to the teacher in advance.
