Objectives

The learning objectives are closely linked to the content covered, seeking to develop specific competences in students. These objectives include the ability to critically analyse health-related information, promote healthy behaviours through education and example, develop effective communication skills to disseminate health information, as well as the ability to evaluate and apply health promotion strategies in diverse communities.

In this way, the coherent integration between the learning objectives and the syllabus content in this course provides students with a comprehensive and applicable educational experience.

This structured approach aims not only to impart theoretical knowledge, but also to empower students to become agents of positive change, promoting health and well-being in their lives and in the community around them.

Learning outcomes and competences

This curricular unit seeks to explore the relationship between physical activity, health and well-being in different populations and sporting contexts. The aim is to enable students to understand, promote and adapt physical activity programs aimed at health and human development in different age groups, physical conditions, and socio-economic contexts.

 

Learning Objectives:

Understand the main concepts and foundations related to education and health promotion.

To understand the theories that support behavior change related to health promotion.

Understand the role of physical activity, exercise, and sport in the context of health promotion.

Know the international recommendations for the practice of health-related physical activity.

Understand the fundamental elements in planning an intervention program for health promotion.

Critically analyze health promotion programs in different contexts.

Draw up a logic model for an intervention program to promote health-related physical activity.

Calculation formula of final grade

Practical component: Completion of work in face-to-face sessions and on the e-learning platform.



Theoretical component: Written test grade, which must be equal to or greater than 10 points.


The final mark for the course will be the weighted average of the theoretical part (40 per cent) and the practical part (60 per cent), and the student with a mark of 10 or more will pass.

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

For students covered by special legislation or regimens of attendance will be required to carry out special testing allowing proof of knowledge and skills related to the objectives and content of the unit, and the individual project.
