1 - Understand the concepts of Martial Arts, Combat Sports and Fighting Games and their influence on society.
2 – Develop didactic and methodological procedures related to struggles for the 2nd and 3rd cycles of Basic and Secondary Education.
3 – Conceive, teach and evaluate, with knowledge and competence, Fights in a school context.
4 – Understand which contents are most suitable for each teaching cycle and how, why and when these contents should be taught.
It is intended that students are able to elaborate methodological didactic contents of the discipline of fights in the school context for students of the 2nd and 3rd cycle. At the end of the course, students should understand what, when, how and why to teach certain content related to fights for the respective teaching years.
Previous knowledge about motor development, motor learning and inclusion in the school process.
The class schedule is as follows (not necessarily their sequence): 1. Combat Sports, martial arts and combat games and their influence on society; 2. Possibilities of fights, martial arts and combat games within Physical Education classes; 3. Models in motor development and fighting teaching; 4. The possibility of inclusion through the teaching of fights, martial arts and combat games at school; 5. Progressive didactics in judo teaching; 6. Possibility of evaluation in the teaching of fights; 7. The teaching of Olympic combat sports within the school; 8. The importance of struggles in the development of factors related to health and well-being; 9. Struggle as a tool to promote physical, motor, educational and health development.
Classes are divided into two blocks “theoretical” and “practical”. Every class should begin and end with a theoretical reflection on the teaching theme that will be experienced in practice. Group academic works will be carried out.

Obligatory attendance - 75% of the lessons given.
Written test - 25%;
Continuous assessment (Pedagogical practice) - 75%;
Minimum passing score for each item - 7.5 marks;
At the end of continuous assessment the minimum score must be 10.
Students with the right to access the special assessment period may carry out special assessment assignments, when they cannot meet all the requirements in the practical assessment, as long as this is communicated to the teacher in advance.
