Objectives

It is intended, with this curricular unit, to approach themes of Physiotherapy in specific conditions or specific populations. It aims to provide interdisciplinary concepts both in the conceptual domain and in terms of the methodological treatment applied to experimental research. It seeks to develop a thematic synthesis of the research area and domain of knowledge applied to physiotherapy and its relation to exercise as a health-promoting, preventive and/or therapeutic practice in this domain.

Learning outcomes and competences

The student for approval at the UC has a classification in the final work (TF) greater than or equal to 9.5 values

The TF consists in the elaboration of a scientific poster, on one of the themes with compliance in the UC according to the agreement provided by the regent. Students will have access to the evaluation grid, which contains the items to be evaluated and the respective quotations.

Seminars   will be carried out to present scientific evidence and research methodologies, as well as critical analysis of topics such as: 

  1. Baby massage - mother-child relationship
  2. Motivational models in the promotion of physical activity, in the elderly and people with chronic disease
  3. occupational health
  4. Diastasis of the rectus abdominis
  5. Physical Activity in Pregnancy
  6. Exercise in older adults
  7. Promotion of pelvic health
