Objectives

- To know the soccer specific system of competitions (Part I);
- To apply and develop the theoretical knowledge about soccer training (Part I);
- To develop competences to intervene in soccer training and competition, particularly in organization and control concerning the training of soccer teams (Part I).

Learning outcomes and competences

- To identify the main problems of coaching, training and competing in soccer settting;

- To optimize the capacities to comunicate and coaching soccer teams;

- To acquire knowledge and skills to mobilize correct and intentionally methodological processes to coach players and soccer teams.

Theoretical knowledge acquired in CU of Methodology I.

Program

The CU Methodology of Sport II - Soccer privileges the vocational training, developed in Sport Training Centers (STC). A STC is a job training core in the area of sport training where the students are faced with the problems posed by the profession in this domain and to solve them. The STC may include all the levels of soccer participation, from youth to high performance.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The experiential learning is the main method. The students have formal sessions supervised by the Professor that could be combined with the contact with soccer professionals revealing appropriate profiles in different intervention areas. The formal sessions include seminars, discussion sessions about the vocational training and sketchy meetings with the Professor responsible for each STC.

Eligibility for exams

The students are evaluated continuously in every tasks performed throughout the semester. The students must participate in a minimum of two training session per week, but it is recommended to attend three training sessions per week. The students must attend to all the formal formation sessions.
The students must:
- To attend 75% of formal formation sessions.
- To prepare and supervise or assist the preparation of a soccer team during the semester.
- To attend the minimum of two training session per week
- Collaborate in the preparation of the training dossier.
- To discuss the final report of the trainership with the tutor.

To students realizing STC, the Head Coach, Technical Coordinator and/or Supervisor in the club whereas STC is performed will be considered, being the opinion of this member of the STC program considered by the Professor Supervisor to the evaluation of the different components.

Calculation formula of final grade

To conclude successfully the curricular unity, the student must obtain the minimum of 10 points in a scale from 0 to 20 in the following components:


Individual dossier, including the season work plan (60%)
- Practical intervention throughout the training and competitions (25%)
- Assiduity and participation in the formal sessions (15%)

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Special situations follow general evaluation rules.

Classification improvement

When justified, the student can have a new opportunity to be evaluated in the referred evaluation components.
