Abstract (EN):
In cooperation with a paper and pulp company, a global criticality evaluation of its Woodyard was performed. This evaluation is based on a methodology that combines both a safety and a conjugated reliability/maintenance costs analysis. The result is a global criticality (GC) value that is expressed in a scale with a range from 0 to 5, where 0 naturally represents an inexistent criticality and 5 represents a maximum level of criticality The methodology here presented can be considered as a valuable approach to help selecting the most critical sectors of a certain industrial activity, not just considering the financial aspects, as it occurs in most cases, but also considering safety.
