Abstract (EN): Fishes belonging to the Families Erythrinidae and Characidae collected in Brazil were surveyed for nematode parasites. Larvae of Contracaecum sp. Type 1 and of Eustrongylides sp. and adults of Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) inopinatus were detected. This is the first report of the occurrence of Contracaecum sp. Type 1 larvae in Hoplerythrinus unitaeniatus and Astyanax altiparanae, of Eustrongylides sp. larvae in H. unitaeniatus and of F. (S.) inopinatus in A. altiparanae.
