I would like to get in touch with my classmates again. Can you help me?

Yes. Through the Former Students Office, the University and its schools encourage the reunion of their former Alumni by organising events that bring together different generations of graduates. In a festive and convivial atmosphere these reunions are ideal opportunities for recalling the “good old days", and are useful for establishing new professional contacts and making our graduates' careers known. Besides these on-site gatherings, you can get in touch and exchange experiences with thousands of other U.Porto alumni in the University's Linkedin page. For more information, contact the Office for Former U.Porto Students.

How can I share my experience with the rest of the community?

As ambassadors of the U.Porto, our Alumni are the best business card of the University in the whole world. In many cases, this connection can result in our former students taking part in some academic events (University Day, New Students Welcome Session, etc.), where they are invited to share their personal experience with students, and collaborate in networking and mentoring activities for final-year students and new graduates, for example. The U.PORTO Alumni magazine has a particular focus on the paths and initiatives of our former students, and disseminates them throughout the entire community. If you are a former student of the University of Porto, you're always invited to share with us your memories, opinions, suggestions and professional achievements. Because our history is ...

Which other initiatives can I take part in?

Our Alumni are always welcome home, whether to participate actively in our educational and research activities, or simply to participate in the University's annual events, or in any of the other cultural, social or sporting activities held regularly in our campus. U.Porto also challenges its alumni to get involved in the community by taking part in voluntary activities organised by the University and/or its schools, students associations and other associative structures created within the academic community.

I have pre-university age friends/family. How can I introduce them to our University?

You can start by choosing one of the initiatives that, throughout all year, open the schools’ and University research centres' doors to thousands of children and teenagers from primary and secondary schools to introduce them to the university world.

Take a couple of days, in march, to visit the Annual University Showcase. Enrol them in the summer courses of the Junior University, Portugal’s biggest programme of initiation to the university environment. Bring them to our schools' open days. And, if necessary, invite the University to visit the school that your children/family members are attending.

In between these activities, don't forget to visit the University's historical buildings; discover the treasures kept in our museums; wander through the emblematic Botanical Garden of Porto; probe the far reaches of space in the Planetarium; or buy a souvenir at U.Porto Shop, with an exclusive discount!

I want to make a donation to the University. Who should I contact?

Our Alumni may contribute to the development of the University through scientific sponsorship activities and donations (fund raising), which will later be used to develop educational and scientific research activities within the institution.

By becoming a benefactor of the U.Porto, or one of its schools, you will not only be helping to enhance the quality of the University, you will also be expressing your pride in having been our student.
