Graduates of Other Higher Education Courses
The Special Contest for Graduates of Other Higher Education Courses is for candidates who hold a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree, and who meet the established requirements for the U.Porto faculty that they wish to apply for.

This special contest applies to students who, cumulatively:
- Hold a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree;
- • Satisfy the prerequisites, when required by the desired course [see Prerequisits]
Note: Graduates of the now-defunct degrees in Primary Education (Magistério Primário), Pre-school Teachers (Educadores de Infância), and General Nursing (Enfermagem Geral) who can prove that they also have a secondary school diploma, complementary to secondary education or the 10th/11th grade, can apply under this special contest.
The application to the Special Contest for Graduates of Other Higher Education Courses must be completed at the U.Porto faculty that you wish to apply for. It is the responsibility of the applicant to complete all the necessary steps required for admission to their courses, as established by law, namely, verifying the number of vacancies available for each of the desired courses and the respective placement criteria.
Candidates will be placed based on criteria such as the compatibility of their curriculum with the course of study they wish to pursue, an evaluation of their professional curriculum and an evaluation – by means of an interview – of their behavioural and interpersonal abilities.
For the 2016/2017 academic year, the U.Porto has 132 vacancies in the 1st cycle (bachelors degree) and integrated masters courses available for applicants of the Special Contest for Graduates of Other Higher Education Degrees. Check the vacancy map (in portuguese).
Students who enter the U.Porto through the Special Contest for Graduates of Other Higher Education Degrees are covered by the general tuition fees regime of the U.Porto.
