Regular students of the U.Porto are also committed to the integration of their foreign colleagues, so as to provide them with a good personal, social and cultural integration. They also seek to disseminate information on opportunities for the participation of students in international activities.
The U.Porto has been represented in the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) since 1990. This is an international network of student groups who develop similar activities in almost 100 European Universities. These groups are mainly made of former ERASMUS students who know quite well the problems that may arise during study periods abroad. ESN Porto has already organised an AGM - Annual General Meeting of the ESN in 1995, and represented Portugal in the International Direction, as well as its Presidency.
Locally, in close cooperation with the International Office and in connection with student unions of each Faculty, the objectives of the group are: to organise cultural, tourism and social activities; to disseminate information (e.g., meetings, trips, guided tours, etc.). Obviously, ESN does not discriminate between ERASMUS students and mobility students coming from other countries.
