What's on At U.Porto? - Cultural events

U.Porto promotes and hosts several events throughout the year, such as exhibitions, conferences, concerts, and performances, among other initiatives.

U.Porto is a vibrant space where the talent and ideas of our students, lecturers and researchers work together to enrich the community.

The University's creative spirit is inspired by regular exhibitions, conferences, concerts, performances or workshops, among other cultural events produced by the university or in partnership with the city's cultural agents, welcoming all trends and audiences.

Most events take place at Casa Comum, which opened in April 2019 at the U.Porto Rectory, rapidly becoming an acknowledged cultural space in the city.

Similarly, our faculties and research units prepare their own cultural programmes, which are also open to the community. Some events are organised in partnership with the city's reference institutions, such as Casa da Música, Serralves Foundation, Soares dos Reis National Museum or the Porto City Hall.

The University's cultural programme would not be complete without the contribution of multiple groups and other initiatives managed by students and former students. These include the Porto University Choral Society - Orfeão Universitário do Porto (OUP), established over a century ago, and the Porto University Theatre Group - Teatro Universitário do Porto (TUP), as well as the work of student associations and other academic and cultural groups which organise events in diverse fields such as theatre, music, dance or film exhibitions.
