Eminent Figures of University of Porto

The University of Porto has annually honored a public figure that has left its mark on the life and culture of the city. Between 2003 and 2005 the attention of the academic community and of the public in general was drawn to three great figures of the University and of Porto: Abel Salazar, José Marques da Silva and Artur de Magalhães Basto. In 2006, continuing this initiative, the Eminent Figure of U.Porto, was officially born, with the tribute to Professor Augusto Nobre.
