Summary: |
The ICF-TRAIN is a Leonardo DaVinci project (European Commission and National Agency for Lifelong Learning) and includes several scientific partners across Europe, including a research group coordinated by Professor Ana Isabel Pinto, from the Centre for Developmental Psychology and Child Education (CPDEC), Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Porto University (FPCEUP). The project´s online platform is now available on the ICF-Train website homepage http://www.icf-training.eu/index.php?menupos=0. Users (service providers in the areas of Early Childhood Intervention and Special Education, as well as parents supported by these professionals) can use the online instrument to document assessment-intervention processes electronically and over time, based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health - Version for Children and Youth (ICF-CY; WHO, 2007). Considering that the use of this classification is legally recommended in the Portuguese context of Early Childhood Intervention and Special Education, this tool may be of great help both for professionals and parents, as well as for improving communication between them. The Portuguese translation of the ICF-CY was developed by the CPDEC research group and is available at: http://www.fsp.usp.br/cbcd/ |
