Summary: |
The current project is proposed by the Group on Motion Control Systems of the unit UISPA - "Unidade de Integração de Sistemas e Processos Automatizados" of the IDMEC pólo FEUP. The main strategic goal of this interest group is to bring knowledge to motion control, namely robotic systems and fluid powered servo-systems. This group plans, in the short term, to continue its research efforts in the field of the impedance control of robotic devices. Impedance control enables the use of robotic devices in tasks implying physical contact between them and their environment, as assembly, handling and surgical assistance tasks. The objective of this project is to set up a test facility within the UISPA to carry out research work on robotic manipulation. It is envisaged to configure a robotic cell using an industrial
robot, standard equipment and other special equipment. This equipment will be used to conduct research work on implementing different control strategies involving force and impedance control. |
