Resumo (PT): A crise dos refugiados que segue a afetar a Europa nos últimos anos, impulsionada por turbulentos acontecimentos políticos, socioculturais e econômicos em países do Leste Europeu e do Oriente Médio, tem exposto e amplificado os desafios relacionados à integração social, educação e justiça social. Esta pesquisa, portanto, está inserida em um contexto global de crise migratória, com impactos significativos na Europa e, em particular, na Grécia. A relevância do estudo se justifica pela necessidade de compreender como a atuação de voluntários/as torna-se uma presença política diante de políticas restritivas nacionais e das dinâmicas locais no campo de refugiados em Kavala, com o fito de promover educação ainda que não-formal, o empoderamento e a autonomia cidadã de refugiados e requerentes de asilo, que se encontram em situação de vulnerabilidade. Ademais, o estudo que aqui se apresenta pretende, a partir de uma observação informal realizada entre os meses de agosto e setembro de 2024, compreender de forma prática e empírica, a partir de um fazer-ser enquanto pesquisadora-voluntária, as potencialidades e os desafios enfrentados por aqueles que decidem atuar enquanto corpo voluntário em contextos de crise humanitária. Para tanto, nos debruçaremos sobre os conceitos de Cidadania, Justiça Social e Humanitarismo de forma crítica e analítica, além da análise das informações e reflexões colhidas a partir das entrevistas. Ao todo, foram seis voluntários/as entrevistados/as para a apresentação dos resultados, os quais evidenciaram não uma visão assistencialista e paternalista da ação social voluntária, mas sim uma visão política e engajada socialmente, cujos objetivos são promover alguma cidadania e justiça social.

Abstract (EN): The refugee crisis that has continued to affect Europe in recent years, driven by turbulent political, socio-cultural, and economic events in Eastern European and Middle Eastern countries, has exposed and amplified the challenges related to social integration, education, and social justice. This research, therefore, is situated within a global context of migratory crisis, with significant impacts on Europe and, in particular, Greece. The relevance of this study lies in the need to understand how the actions of volunteers become a political presence in the face of restrictive national policies and local dynamics in the Kavala refugee camp. The aim is to promote non-formal education, empowerment, and the civic autonomy of refugees and asylum seekers, who find themselves in vulnerable situations. Furthermore, the study presented here seeks to understand, through informal observation conducted between August and September 2024, the practical and empirical realities of acting as a researcher-volunteer. It explores the potentialities and challenges faced by those who decide to engage as volunteer bodies in humanitarian crisis contexts. To achieve this, we critically and analytically examine the concepts of Citizenship, Social Justice, and Humanitarianism, alongside the analysis of information and reflections gathered from interviews. A total of six volunteers were interviewed to present the results, which revealed not a paternalistic and welfare-based view of voluntary social action, but rather a politically and socially engaged perspective. The objective of this engagement is to foster citizenship and social justice.
