The main objective of the project is the translation of the uses and procedures of libre software (free/open source software) development to the creation of content suitable to be used as material for education. The main expected outputs are a libre Learning Content Management System (built in part by reusing already available libre software components), including modules to promote sharing and interaction between actors in the educational process, multilingual support with tracking of modifications, and support for distance learning. This LCMS will be also used by the partners in the project to create educational material. The LCMS, the educational material and the impact on the educational process will be evaluated (using several testbeds in all the involved partners, which will use them in their regular educational activities). As a result of this evaluation, in a second stage the results of the evaluation will be used to improve all of them. All the outputs of the project will be released under libre software or libre documentation licenses, and will be available to the educational community as soon as possible in the release cycle. |
