Resumo (PT): The glucose isomerization process coupled with adsorption using simulated moving bed technology to obtain high/higher fructose syrups (HFS) are discussed. The mathematical modeling of this process, based on the equivalence between True Moving Bed Reactor (TMBR) and Simulated Moving Bed Reactor (SMBR) is presented. Reaction and adsorption parameters are determined experimentally. A new configuration of the SMBR is proposed which allows the production of fructose-rich product (90% in purity).
