1) Disseminate the importance and potential of oyster farming, based on principles of sustainability, quality and food safety;
2) Increase knowledge about methodologies and techniques used for oyster cultivation;
3) To strengthen the competitiveness of aquaculture by promoting better qualifications of its agents;
4) Implement the promotion of "good practices" in the production of bivalves;
5) Strengthen training in food hygiene and safety;
6) Stimulate investment in this area of production;
7) To contribute to local development and to the promotion of employment;
8) To contribute to the improvement of efficiency in the use of resources as well as the reduction of negative impacts on the environment.
