1 - The Student, Employability and Alumni Office’s mission is to promote the academic integration of students, their academic success, well-being and psychosocial development, while facilitating and fostering ICBAS’ interaction with current, prospective and former students, in close collaboration with management services and bodies.

2 – The Student, Employability and Alumni Office carries out its activities in the following areas:

1. Psychological and psychiatric support;
2. Specific educational needs support;
3. Academic integration and success;
4. Alumni and employability;
5. Transferable skills promotion within the office’s domain areas.

3 – Within the scope of psychological support, and without injury to other functions it holds, it is up to the Office to ensure, through psychological intervention, the specialized counselling of students regarding personal, social, vocational and academic issues. Furthermore, where justified, the Office ensures access to psychiatric consultations for ICBAS students, in collaboration with the Psychiatry Service of Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto.

4 – Without injury to other functions it holds, within the area of support to students with specific educational needs, the Student, Employability and Alumni Office ensures, together with ICBAS’ and U.Porto services, the implementation of the defined norms and procedures, as well as the development of initiatives that aim to improve the experiences and educational conditions of these students.

5 – Within student success and integration, the Student, Employability and Alumni Office is responsible for:

1. Welcoming and supporting students’ psychosocial integration, in coordination with ICBAS and U.Porto services;
2. Promoting joint work with the Health and Social Action Services in U.Porto;
3. Supporting, together with the Pedagogical Council, mentoring programs.
4. And any other functions that might fall within their scope.

6 – In the area of alumni and employability, the Student, Employability and Alumni Office is responsible for:

1. Collecting and processing information relating to past students, namely to update the respective data base;
2. Promoting the collection and processing of information concerning the professional activities of alumni;
3. Fostering Alumni’s connection to the institution.
4. Promoting employability strategies.
5. And any other functions that might fall within their scope.

7- It is also the responsibility of the Student, Employability and Alumni Office to support, identify and promote, in close work with the competent Training Support Services and Bodies, the identification and promotion of transferable skills related to its areas of activity.
