Theresa Kalchhauser is a linguist with a focus on Slavic languages from University of Vienna. In addition to the Master’s degree she holds two Bachelor degrees in Czech and Slovak. After having gained experience both inside and outside academia, she is currently a PhD student with a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions ITN Early Language Development in the Digital Age (e-LADDA) grant in the Psychology Doctoral Program at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto. Under the supervision of Professor Rui A. Alves she focuses on the influence of digital and analogue technologies in literacy development. She is eager to find out the dynamic links between gestures, literacy and language by means of different measures of written production in children in order to improve teaching methods in the classroom.
