It is intended that students acquire skills of organizational intervention (planned change) and understand how this intervention promotes the development of individuals, groups and organizations.
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- Distinguish different theories of organizational intervention/ development;
- Know the different stages of organizational intervention and development;
- Know tools that can be used to diagnose;
- Distinguish different levels of human intervention in the organizational context;
- Know the different intervention strategies in human processes and tailor them to the level at which the intervention occurs;
- Recognize the systemic characteristics of organizations to consider in the process of organizational intervention.

Students should in a regular basis contact with journals in the area:
- Consulting Psychology Journal;
- Consulting Psychology Bulletin;
- Jornal of Organizational change management.
When possible, the bibliography will be made available in digital format for students (in the UC page - moodle).
Lectures; Case studies analysis, followed by large group discussion. Group dynamics, followed by large group discussion. Film watching and oriented exercises. Lectures and workshops by specialists in the UC’s domains, followed of group debates.

Classes are mandatory for all students.
Students who miss more than 25% of the classes will not obtain attendance (in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 9 of the Assessment Regulations).
Students who are legally exempted from attendance at classes must conduct all evaluation components defined above (to do so, they must contact the teacher until the 2nd class).
It is not possible to join the class after the second class.
The final grade considers:
The final classification results from the grade obtained in the following evaluation components:
(a) Field work - 50% of the final evaluation.
Group component.
(b) Oral presentation of the field work - 25% of the final evaluation.
Group component.
(c) Fieldwork infographics - 25% of the final evaluation.
Individual component.
To be approved students must have: 1) a minimal of 8 in each of the assessment components; and 2) minimal final grade of 10 (ponto 2, Artº 4 do Regulamento geral para avaliação dos discentes da FPCEUP).
The final classification is obtained considering evaluation components outlined above.
The ratings in each of the components and the final classification will be communicated to students on a scale of 0 to 20.

Student-workers who cannot attend classes will be evaluated in the same components.
