Learning outcomes and competences

This module focuses on deepening theoretical and practical knowledge about education with the arts as an opportunity for citizenship

The module involves dialogue with local, national, and European realities, including contact with key experiences with the arts in the development of communities.

Successful completion of this module implies that students will be able to:

Show an understanding of the relationships between education, arts, and citizenship(s) at local, national, and European level

Critically explore the challenges to education, arts, and citizenship(s) in the present time

Understand the relevance and political and social dimension of emancipatory traditions in education

Reveal knowledge about the role of the arts in building lifelong learning

Show theoretical/practical knowledge about arts education outside and inside the school

Develop research appropriate to education with the arts within a relevant ethical framework and using this knowledge

Value and show critical appropriation of education-training skills with the arts

Formulate a project of dissertation, project or report at the intersection of education, arts and citizenship

Eligibility for exams

The attainment of the UC implies:

1 - At least 75% attendance of the planned classes

2 – Devolution to the group of the theoretical and practical integration by the student making resource to the arts

3 – Oral participation in seminars

4 - Construction of the 1st reflexive sketch of dissertation, project, report

Opportunities will be provided for peer feedback, self-assessment and formative feedback throughout the course

Viva presentation - 40%
