Objectives

It is intended that students develop knowledge and acquire skills about the main human resource systems in which organizational psychologist intervenes in the work context.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of this course students should be able to:
- Interpret and explain the main phenomena and psychosocial processes in the area of human resources;
- Have knowledge about the main areas of HR management function;
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills to the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of changes and interventions to improve behaviors, situations and psychosocial processes in the field of human resources.

By the completion, with tutorial support, of a research work dealing one of the topics proposed in the course, it is intended that students build knowledge up to date on issues approached and develop skills to design and develop a research and/or action project on Human Resources Management.

Eligibility for exams

Classes are subject to verification of attendance.
Safeguarding the special cases covered in the law, students who miss more than 25% of the classes planned not get frequency at course unit (according to Regulation Assessment of students FPCEUP - Article 9A, point 2.).

Calculation formula of final grade

The final grade results of the mark obtained in the following assessment components:
a) Final exam (50%) - test with multiple choice and short development questions and,
b) Group work (50%):
   i) Assessment of student participation in the meetings of tutorial support (10%);
   ii) Evaluation of oral presentations (15%);
   iii) evaluation of written report (25%).
 
To obtain approval in the course, the student have to:
1) obtain a final mark of 8 values in each of the assessment components and,
2) obtain a final mark of 10 values (according to point 2, Article 4 of Regulation Assessment of students FPCEUP).

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Students who by law are exempted from verification of the conditions of attendance to classes, should perform the two assessment components previously defined. For this, they have to contact at the BEGINNING of the semester (NEVER after 2nd class) the teacher responsible for the course.

Classification improvement

According to point 1.a) of Article 10 of the General Regulation for the evaluation of UP students, improving the final classification obtained in this course is possible by carrying out a further exam remaining valid the classification obtained in the component "group work".
