Objectives

To allow the students to be part of a developmental group.

To improve awareness about the importance of the development of soft skills along with the development of th hard skills of Psychology.

To develop personal and interpersonal skills which empower the students to a better performance whether as college students or as psychologysts.

To stimulate the life span development of the students.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of this course unit it is expected that the students:

1. Have participated in a developmental group.
2. Have developed or have become more aware of the importance of the development of personal and interpersonal skills to their lives, whether as studends whether as future psychologists.
3. Have increased their awareness of the importance of  investing in life span development.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Classes of 1h30min.

Each class will constitute a developmental group, in which is required the participation of the students.

The classes are provided in a 3 step structure: to aknowledge, to develop and to integrate the skill.
The first one allows the student to know more about the skill; the second allows the student to improve the skill through reflection and practice exercises and the third allows the student to generalise the learning to his/her life (to personal, interpersonal and professional dimensions).

Eligibility for exams

The student is required to attend the classes (75% at least), to participate in the exercises proposed by the teachers, and to realize the required individual and group activities in order to get approval in the course unit.

Calculation formula of final grade

Final classification (sum of the classifications obtained in each dimension):

1. Attendance and participation in the classes and in the exercises proposed in the classes - 30%

2. Individual work - 35%

3. Group work - 35%


It is required to fulfill all the dimensions.
