Objectives
The course approaches aspects related to the intergroup dynamics, in order to understand the social psychological antecedents and consequences of cooperation, conflict, negotiation, exclusion and social discrimination. These topics function as a framework to analyze current social phenomena, such as majority reactions to deviance, the construction of social identities, the emergency of feelings of relative deprivation, the mobilization to collective action, social change. Other aspects related to group dynamics are considered, such as group productivity, decision-making, lidership, pressures to uniformity, innovation, and the definitionof roles and functions in groups.
