The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP) started its activity in 1980 and is proud to be currently a reference in training and research in the fields of Psychology and Educational Sciences, having contributed for the training of professionals of excellence inserted in the social fabric in areas such as education, justice, health, public administration, companies and socio-cultural animation, among others.

Affirming themselves as an institution at the forefront of research, with a nationally and internationally recognized contribution, FPCEUP hosts two research centers financed by FCT and several structures (laboratories and observatories) that create the conditions for the development of research in different areas, favoring from an early age contact of students with the activities developed there.

Aligned with the mission of the University of Porto, the internationalization aspect is a hey the priority priority for the development of FPCEUP demonstrated through the growing number of projects and protocols with foreign entities, the increase in student flow and the exchange of teachers, researchers and technicians, within the scope of cooperation and mobility programs.

With a community of around 2000 students in the areas of degree training, FPCEUP strongly invests in continuing education and lifelong training programs, seeking to respond to the needs of professional, civic and cultural training in society. The insertion in the community and the role it claims in the context of local social development - axis of action within the scope of the 3rd mission of the University of Porto - are illustrated in the offer of services to the community, psychological consultation, consultancy, training and services dedicated to education and the family.

With 40 years of activity completed, in the full phase of institutional maturity, FPCEUP projects itself in the future as a reference school , committed in offering quality education and positioning itself at the forefront of research in their areas of activity.

Mission

“The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto 's mission is to ensure training, research and the provision of services to the community in the fields of Social and Human Sciences, namely Psychology and Educational Sciences, referring to local and national realities, as well as to the dynamics of internationalization, and recognized by criteria of excellence and social relevance. ”
