Assistant Professor for 17 years at FPCEUP on topics related to the history of psychology and epistemology, with social control, diversity, vulnerability, public policies, qualitative research methods and synthesis of scientific literature. Extensive experience as a clinical psychologist, but also in a outreach work with people who use drugs, who do sex work, who face homelessness, among others. Marta Pinto also has a long trajectory in the coordination, supervision, evaluation and creation of community action-research projects and is involved with national and international research and intervention networks related to the care provision to underserved populations. Scientific advisor of policy-makers from different countries in the area of ​​public policies. Co-author of the national strategy to address COVID-19.

Areas of interest and work: Psychology of Peace, Violence and Conflict; Risk/Crisis Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE); Public health; Harm Reduction associated with drug use and sex work; juvenile transgression; poverty and social exclusion; health literacy.
