Objectives

Clinical training applying previous knowledge, in a vertical perspective of the global learning of semiologic, semiotic and therapeutical surgery, in the most frequent coloproctologic situations.

Learning outcomes and competences

The school will be on the concept of block, an optional module. During this period the student will follow the normal activities of their Assistant experience in clinical situations and problems that occur in hospital practice Coloproctology.

The student should be able to apply the clinical method to the diagnosis and treatment of the colorectal diseases. The student should design his own studying plane, decide and participate in his patient’s surgical treatment as well as maintain a good relation with his patients, their families and other health professionals.
Anatomy. Physiology. Pharmacology. Clinic Auxiliary studies. Oncological pathology. Inflammatory pathology. Functional pathology. Proctology. Endoscopic/laparoscopic Surgery.

Practice - attendance of the General Surgery Departement, comprising the inpatient ward, operating room and outpatient multidisciplinary appointments

Eligibility for exams

Continuous assessment: The teacher on duty will evaluate his students ability to apply in the daily practice, the theoretical knowledge, training in practical maneuvers, performance in the seminaries, attitude and relation with the patients and their families and other health professionals.
Another assessment item should be the student’s interest and participation in all activities, including attendance and behaviour. Theory assessment: Activities report discussion. Classification: 0 to 20, equally distributed by theory and practice.

Continuous assessment and discussion of a short written report
