Objectives

The students should prepare a structure document which includes the justification, aims and methods proposed to the development of the PhD theses. Students should know how to identify the research questions and be able to justify and to plan the research project namely adequating the methods to the objectives.

Learning outcomes and competences

The syllabus covers essential tools to plan and develop an epidemiologic research. It includes also the application of those knowledge and skills in examples of diverse scenarios, chosen by their frequency and severity, as well as taking into account the different methodological problems they raise.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The curricular unit has 8 ECTS, corresponding to a toral of 216 hours of work by the student; out of these 36h are of contact (16h of theoretico-practical sessions and 20h of tutorial supervision).

The learning assessment will consist in the development of a written research protocol in two phases: 1st phase - writing a research protocol in group (40%) and 2nd phase - writing the individual theses protocol (30%) and the correspondent public presentation and discussion (30%).

Calculation formula of final grade

Classification improvement
