Objectives

Knowledge of the scientific background of some of the current molecular therapies available in the basic and clinical setting

Develop the skills to define the scientific basis of molecular therapies based on the knowledge of the diseases in order to define the clinial applications of these techniques. Critical understanding of scientific and ethic limitations of molecular therapies.

Background to the  basic rules about the proposal of scientific projects.

Ability for oral presentation.

Work in small groups.

Ability to writte according to scientific rules.

Learning outcomes and competences

The syllabus is organized to reflect the current applications of molecular therapies in order to provide a critical knowledge of the Basic and clinical applications of molecular therapies. The curricular Unit is proposed in the first semester of the 3rd year so that the students have a clear knowledge of molecular biology techniques and the rudiment information about several pathologies which can benefit from the aplication of molecular therapies.

Working method

Presencial

Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)

The curricular Unit is proposed in the first semester of the 3rd year so that the students have a clear knowledge of molecular biology and immunology acquired during the 1st and 2nd year of the curriculum. Additionally, the students must know the rudiment information about several pathologies which can benefit from the aplication of molecular therapies.

Program
