Objectives

To develop knowledge, skills and competences in forensic pathology, allowing students to actively participate in the crime scene investigation, in forensic autopsies, in the evidence and other biological samples collection, as well as in the elaboration of the autopsy report and in the discussion of the results in the forensic expertise setting.

Learning outcomes and competences

Being the concern to provide students with knowledge, skills and competencies that enable them to actively participate in a forensic autopsy, teaching methodology is adequate through practical classes, in order to allow the training of gestures which are expectable in a real situation and that are important to attain in this context.

42 hours of clinical practice (participation in forensic medical exams of victims of trauma of diverse etiologies, with a ratio teacher:student of 1:2.

Students will be evaluated though a written assignment (original research or monograph), its oral presentation and discussion, being its score equivalent to the final grade of the curricular unit.
