Provide the students with knowledge and skills in the design, production and dissemination of scientific research in medical informatics

Learning outcomes and competences

- Define and plan research studies in medical informatics;
- Find information on electronic databases of biomedical knowledge;
- Write and submit for review, original and review scientific articles;
- Produce scientific oral presentations and posters;
- Produce and describe descriptive statistic data analyses and statistical inference.

- Research protocols in medical informatics;
- Form and content of original scientific articles;
- Specific characteristics of scientific review articles;
- Communication strategies of scientific papers;
- Probability, descriptive statistics, statistical inference and modelling.

Eligibility for exams

Attendance to a minimum of 2/3 of the lectures + at least grade 10 on each evaluation component (exam/tests, group assignment, individual assignment)

Calculation formula of final grade

Theoretical examination (60%), discussion of scientific articles(20% and a practical data analysis assignment (20%).
